More from the Great Buff Reunion

The end of August was epic. Uncle Ryan and Aunt Julia came east to visit for a few days. And you know if they were coming up here that Nana Gail and Papa Wayne were coming up. We took Ryan and Julia to Carolina Beach (see previous post) then we spent the rest of the time at the Life and Science Museum, the Eno River, and chilling around the house.

Checking out the farm animals with Nana Gail and Papa Wayne.

Uncle Ryan looks like a natural.

Mind if SugarBear takes a few pictures?

Picnicing at the Eno River.

Uncle Ryan teaches the timeless art of the Slinky.

More Slinky magic.

Seriously, the cutest picture ever.

Quick Beach Trip

You know if Uncle Ryan and Aunt Julia are going to take time off from working and bike riding to come all the way east that we're going to have to go to the beach! At least for a day!

Sweet T Visit

Its been a busy month getting the house ready for Baby #2. Things are winding down and the nursery is close to ready. There are still a list of projects around the house that need to be taken care of, but there will be plenty of time for that later. Right? Right?

As normalcy comes to a close with each passing day, we've had a lot of family visit in the last few weeks. This past weekend was Delany's cousin Sweet T. In the interest of time we'll just put these up and let them speak for themselves. They couldn't have had a better time playing together. Its a shame they can't hang out more often.

Yeah, that's a dinosaur.

Recession? What recession?

Our family has been committed to single-handedly pulling this country out of this recession by puchasing as much stuff as possible over the last month. We started by making a couple of big trips to Ikea to get a new computer desk and new display cabinets for the bedroom. We moved on to getting new big girl bed for Sugar Bear and then finally a new Honda for Mama Bear.

Delany loves to help. I'm lucky she let me put her bed together at all without pushing me away to do it all herself.

Here we are trying out the brand new bed. We haven't yet tried it out for real yet, we're still working on how exactly to get her out of the crib. It'll be soon though.

In Delany's words "My car". She does slip up and occasionally call it "Mama's car" but will correct herself soon after that with plenty of "Mine mine mine".

Delany shows off all the cool features.

Final Beach Days

We're back from the beach! It'll probably go down as one of the greatest weeks ever. Every day was better than the last and it's a shame it had to end. Delany would find something new to do everyday, from playing at the shore edge to digging a big hole and dubbing it a "pool".

There was a local donut shop around the corner. We got SugarBear a special pink iced one with sprinkles. She kinda liked it.

It's cold!

Where are my legs?!?

One of our big activities for a couple of days was decorating our sand walls with seashells. D was always very specific about where a certain shell was supposed to go.

Playing in the sand under the umbrellas.

Oh! It's still cold!!

Doing a little bit of post-beach Lego playing. She's desperately trying to hold onto Sue in her right arm while building her Lego car with her left.

D-rock is getting sleepy.

Bring that camera back here!
