NC State Fair 2009

Here we are, bundled up and ready for a cold morning at the fair. This is D's second year at the fair. Only this year its a lot lot lot colder. We left around noon and it only got up to 47, with a steady (and very chilly) breeze.

So much to look at!

You might think I've got her all wrapped up, but what I'm really doing is keeping my hands warm.

Those cheeks look chilly.

Lets go get an elephant ear.

D-rock's first elephant ear.

Yum. That's good eatin'!

SugarBear and her momma sharing some fried dough.

Now let's go see some farm animals.

D pointing at some piglets.

Here we are trying to work off some of that dough from earlier. Or maybe we're our way to get a bag of honey cotton candy.

Near the end of the day we went over to the petting zoo. Don't worry, we didn't let her pet anything.

I mean, look at this evil goat! Would you pet this?!

Our food total consisted of a bag of mini-donuts, an elephant ear, maple cotton candy, honey cotton candy, italian sausage dog (w/ peppers), grilled corn, and apple dumpling. D ate some of everything and liked it all with the exception of the cotton candy.

  2. The fair isn't fair without farm animals and fried foods. It's the southern way.
