Carolina Beach Week

Another summer means another week at Carolina Beach. Here we are showing off our new skill of slurping watermelon. Its the only way we're allowed to eat it now.

This Lego is an approved child chew toy, right?

A typical Merrit face.

Ready for the pool.

Merrit was not a real fan of the beach, but he did love the pool.

Speaking of not being a fan of the beach....

.... it took several days to get used to the sand, surf, and sun. By the end of the week she couldn't get enough.

Merrit plays the part of the willing patient. I don't think that's where the heartbeat is.
Kimbo and D giving me a razz.

The merry-go-round was a lot of fun, despite all the sandy kids and teenagers.

That's right, you should be scared of the carnies.

One morning was spent at the Aquarium at Fort Fisher. Say hello to the albino alligator.

The princess and the frog.

Get her Mer-mer.

Notice that Delany still has her distrusting-the-ocean face.

Merrit was happy to see the ocean though.

D-Rock learned how to jump into the pool this week. We did a lot of jumping over 7 days.

A little young for sunbathing. Sweet shades though.

One morning we spent some time at the playground. Merrit seems a little suspect of big sister pushing him in the swing. He was right, of course, since right after this D was asking if Merrit wanted to swing high.

To add a some extra chaos to the week, Merrit started cutting his upper two front teeth. I think you may be able to see them in his big smile here.

Everybody taking a nap.

Such a happy boy.
This was the day that Delany finally (it only took her 3 days!!) decided that she wanted to have fun on the beach. We definitely made the most of it.

Eventually Merrit woke up from his nap so he came down for some fun.

D-Rock shows Mer how to wash the sand off his hands.

Delany loves giving sweet hugs.
